When arriving at or departing from Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL), you’ll sense this isn’t your typical transportation hub. The “aloha spirit” welcomes with tradewinds, tropical flower scents and landscaping that enlivens open-air walkways. At press time, there are no longer any COVID-19 related entry requirements for domestic travelers. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded $22 million to Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) for critical infrastructure improvements, including:
Concrete spalling repairs on the Terminal 2 roadway for the Wiki Wiki Shuttle
Expansion of passenger sidewalks
Upgraded lighting and electrical systems at the Diamond Head Concourse
Wiki Wiki Shuttles operate daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, offering complimentary service (including luggage transport) between terminals. For terminal maps and shuttle information, visit airports.hawaii.gov
MOBILE PASSPORT CONTROL
Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) now offers Mobile Passport Control (MPC) — an innovative solution from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) designed to speed up your arrival process. Mobile Passport Control allows eligible travelers to submit their passport and customs declaration information securely via a smartphone or tablet before reaching the customs checkpoint.
Benefits of MPC at HNL:
● Faster entry into the U.S.
● Shorter wait times at customs
● Secure and streamlined processing
● Improved passenger experience with no compromise on security

DEPARTURES
TSA PreCheck for U.S. Armed Forces Members
Members of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible for TSA PreCheck by entering their DoD ID number (found on the back of the Common Access Card) into the “Known Traveler Number” field when:
● Booking flights
● Updating their Defense Travel System (DTS) profile
If TSA PreCheck is printed on your boarding pass, children 12 and under traveling with you can also access expedited screening.

Visitor Information Program Desks
Need help navigating the airport or finding your next stop? Visitor Information Program (VIP) Desks are located throughout the terminal. Hours are 5:00 AM – 10:30 PM daily. If a desk is unstaffed, simply call (808) 836-6413 using the nearby courtesy phones for assistance.
Cell Phone Waiting Lots
Avoid circling the terminal by using our free Cell Phone Waiting Lots, perfect for drivers picking up arriving passengers.
● Up to 1 hour of free parking
● 2 Locations:
○ Off Nimitz Highway on Aolele Street, near Lagoon Drive
○ Service Road A, near the Airport Post Office (intersection of Nimitz Hwy & Aolele St.)
USO Lounge
Military travelers at HNL can visit the USO Lounge between Baggage Claim Areas 19 and 20 in Terminal 2 for a comfortable place to relax, with refreshments, Wi-Fi, and seating. The lounge is open daily, with hours ranging from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM depending on the day. Across from Baggage Claim 19, the Army Liaison Counter provides daily assistance with military processing.
RENTAL CARS
Directly across from Terminal 2, the new Consolidated Rent-A-Car (CONRAC) facility houses rentals from Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Payless, Thrifty and Sixt. For offsite rentals, proceed to the PRE-ARRANGED 4 area located on the ground level at the west end of the CONRAC structure. Prior pick-up arrangements are required.
PLANT & PET RESTRICTIONS
The Hawaii Department of Agriculture has launched the Animal Import System (AIS) and the Hawaii Pet Owner Portal (HIPOP) to simplify the pet import process.
Pet owners can now:
● Complete and print required applications
● Access important forms
● Track submission status — all in one place
